Hi
Today is the 21 January. In a couple of days it will be the 24th, and I shall be another year older. It's a curious thing, but as you get older the years seem to pass by faster and faster.
I reached retirement age around a year ago, but still work even though now it is on a part time basis..., currently around fifteen hours per week. I am an educator and during my career have worked in all education sectors; Primary, Secondary, Special and for the last twenty or so years in tertiary. Currently I work with Post-Graduate International students in a program called a Professional Year Program. It is mainly involved in teaching culture, communication and employability skills in the Australian context to assist these students in gaining full-time professional employment in their area of expertise in addition to Australian citizenship.
Generally I have always enjoyed my work as a teacher, lecturer and educational administrator. I do plan on continuing to work part-time in the area for some considerable time yet.
For the last forty or so years I have had another passion, and that is photography. Although I have made a few sales of prints here and there, it has never been my job, and it never will be. The money I have spent on cameras and associated equipment will never be recouped from any sales I make. In fact, if it became my job, I doubt that I would enjoy it anywhere near as much. It is nice though to be able to get some return for the considerable money I have outlaid on my passion over the years.
Now that I am in semi-retirement I can enjoy the luxury of spending more time on photography. For the last six or so months I have been building up my own library of photos to supply to photo library sites. Most of the models I have worked with during that time have agreed to an arrangement with me that I retain copyright of the photos I have taken, but they are provided with copies of all the "raw" photos in addition to the "edited" photos that I produce. No money changes hands either way, and I believe it is a WIN/WIN situation for all concerned.
The subjects/themes for any photo shoots are almost limitless. If you live in the South-East Queensland area or Australia and would like to be a model for me, then I look forward to hearing from you. Any age*, either gender, alone, in pairs, in groups, involved in almost any activity. (*minors will need a model release signed by a parent)
